I have been terrible at updating occurrences in my life and musically – so I will take a little time and do an update.
The previous two years have been very interesting. I have had four different homes in three states over the course of two years. After California and Colorado, my fiancé and I have finally settled down in a small town in the Midwest. I wanted to focus on my music more, as all the moving, traveling, and personal transitions during that time period made it a bit difficult to do so.
In Colorado, I had the mountains; they consumed me and still do. My life is a mountain that I am trying to climb. There is no peak - there is never a peak, though, the harsh trekking to the summit can still be attempted.. It should still be attempted. Which brings me to ‘analogue’ ..
On analogue /
On my website I had written a few words on analogue::
life translates itself in a mountain form / a n a l o g u e /
it is a place of creation / understanding / and honesty /
it frees me / it allows me to grow / to love … /
life translates itself in mountain form / with no summit /
never obtainable to reach / always obtainable to reach for /
three is its shape / nine is its philosophy / both living in my spirit /
a n a l o g u e – is / a never ending goal /
to expand on the text //
For the longest time I have been undecided as what to do musically. I am always inspired by so many different genres and never know which direction I should go. How serious should I take this album over the next? How is one album more important than the other? I was working on a big double album called ‘analogue’ (analogue is the philosophy behind my attempt to climb my mountain / reaching some sort of enlightenment). The first half of the album was going to be folk, the second half was to be classical. I had worked the project up to be so large in my mind that I stopped producing. Before I had the idea for this album, songs flowed out easily – that was not the case anymore. After one night of contemplation and questioning I realized that ‘analogue’ is not one album.. ‘analogue’ is my albums. ‘analogue’ is my notebook. I want my music to be personal.. I am not creating albums to create albums, though I am documenting a point in my life. ‘analogue’ is whatever I want it to be, whatever I am feeling at that moment, in whatever state I may be in. With this said, all of my releases will be released, “analogue – 1”, “analogue – 2”, “analogue – 3”, etc. Until I am unable to create on a daily basis, my life, musically, will be that final “analogue” album..

Some music /
a n a l o g u e - I
‘a n a l o g u e – I’ is a compilation of many songs I have worked on over the course of three – four years. I had previously released two solo albums, ‘Finger’ and ‘The Silence’, earlier this year, but now discontinued both albums. ‘a n a l o g u e – I’ features songs from both ‘Finger’ and ‘The Silence’ as well as a few other tracks that will end up on future ‘analogue’ albums. It is free and can be downloaded by clicking HERE or on the album art.
a n a l o g u e – II
‘a n a l o g u e – II’ is an eight and a half minute collaboration with Imani Waddy of Pronounced Love. It is a free form jazz piece which happened accidently and turned out to be something we both really enjoy. It is free and can be downloaded by clicking HERE or on the album art.
a n a l o g u e – III (coming soon)
‘a n a l o g u e - III’ is another collaborative piece between myself and Imani Waddy. After the completion of ‘analogue-II’ we decided to make a thirty three minute song no one would want to listen to. The project consumed us and we eventually finished a thirty three minute and thirty three second soundscape. The track is finished but may not see the light of day until we are ready to share it.
I am currently working on ‘ a n a l o g u e – IV ’ (A folk album) and ‘ a n a l o g u e – V ‘ (a classical album).
Now finally settled, it is time to produce this music and share it with whoever may want to listen.
